Backstage at Area’s Fall 2026 Show

Last Friday, Nicolas Aburn presented his sophomore collection for Area with verve and undeniable glamour. The collection, kicking off with elevated denim basics, quickly played into the brand’s longstanding dancefloor sensitivities with an array of oversized ruffles, dripping sequins, and electric blues.

The twelve-year-old brand has always been remarkable for its blend of New York energy and Italian craftsmanship—while presenting in New York, its atelier is based in Milan—and, increasingly so, its glitzy cocktail attire.
