An Exclusive Look at Area’s Spring 2027 Show
The Spring 2027 shows have reached their conclusion, and many of next season’s most invigorating trends have become clear. In a time of difficulty and unrest around the world, fashion has made a pronounced move to joy, with vibrant embellishment, playful textures, and a sense of whimsy offering a counterpoint to the everyday. An early highlight of the season was Nicholas Aburn’s outing for Area in New York, which livened up a rainy Sunday morning with a collection composed of colorful plastic jump ropes, floaty feathers, and a shimmering foil that was sliced into skirts and dresses. Aburn told WWD that he followed his instincts for the collection, and it is clear that what we need now more than ever is a little bit of levity in all of our lives.
