Dior Visits Los Angeles for Its Cruise 2027 Show
Last week, as the sunset painted the Hollywood Hills, guests began arriving at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, featuring brand new galleries by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Peter Zumthor, for a first look at Dior’s latest collection. The first Cruise outing by Jonathan Anderson was inspired by the house’s long history with Hollywood and its denizens, specifically Marlene Dietrich, who once famously declared, “No Dior, no Dietrich!“ Pulling inspiration from Californian icons, including the poppy, Anderson presented a light and fresh vision rife with the alluring textures, surprising silhouettes, and lush florals he has made his signatures, and introduced a new collaboration with the legendary artist Ed Ruscha. As the models made their way around the convertibles parked under Zumthor’s archly Brutalist new building, it was a vision of California past, present, and future, filtered through the lens of a stalwart of French high fashion.
