The White Album
“We tell ourselves stories in order to live.“ The opening line of Joan Didion’s 1979 essay collection The White Album is an encapsulation of art and life, a distillation of the power of individual perception to shape experience. Living through a tumultuous decade in Los Angeles, Didion was an exemplar of a contemporary woman defining herself amidst the swirling culture around her. In our latest fashion editorial from director and photographer Mattias Pettersson and stylist Veronica Blagoeva, the model Veronika Kunz is similarly self-assured, dressed in minimal designs from the new season. With an accompanying video exploring the nature of identity and self-respect, the story is a celebration of the investigation of the self in all its fascinating facets.
